Oradour Sur Glane

Oradour Sur Glane

This large and prosperous village near Limoges was attacked and destroyed on Saturday 10th.June 1944. The village remains as it was left, as a memorial to those who died and also a reminder.


St Emillion

This is a beautiful mediaeval town with cobbled streets and ancient limestone buildings. There are many restaurants, including shops and many sight seeing opportunities. It is a large wine producing area. Generally the Bordeaux wines are rich and warm with a high concentration of the Merlot grape.


Arcachon

This has Europe's largest sand dune. It is currently 3 km long and is moving in-land at the rate of 5 metres a year.


Futuroscope

This is an intelligent theme park with education in mind. It is one of France's most popular attractions and is situated in the Poitou-Charente region. It is suitable for young children (height restrictions on some attractions), teenagers and or adults alike.


The Medoc

Visit the Medoc region for the famous wine producing chateaux of the region. Take the Blaye ferry to Lamarque near Margaux and visit Paulliac, St Julien, St. Estephe and many more.
